  • PFC Energy's Petroleum Risk Manager (PRM) is a dynamic, online analytical tool designed to assess political, economic and petroleum sector risk in 63 oil-producing countries. PRM uses a methodology that is global, consistent and objective, enabling clients to build a three dimensional picture of above-ground risk and to make comparisons across countries in a consistent manner.

At the core of PRM is a database of 30 above-ground risk factors organized among six broad aggregates:
    • Country Economics
    • Country Politics
    • Oil Sector Entry
    • Oil Sector Operations
    • Oil Sector Surprises
    • Social Factors

PRM email alerts keep companies, financial institutions, business development and strategic planning groups informed of developments that might impact above-ground risk in a particular country. Clients have used PRM in the evaluation of projects, to review investment and financing decisions, to monitor risk in an existing portfolio, to risk weight reserve valuations and make peer-group comparisons. Each factor of the above-ground risk database is scored on an objective scale, allowing users to make direct comparisons among countries.

    Data Analysis & Modeling Tools

PRM models can be customized by adjusting the assigned weights and assumptions. This allows clients to perform scenario analysis or stress testing. PRM model outputs can be presented through tables, line graphs, charts, and cartograms, in addition to either being viewed as color-coded letter grades or as raw data. These can be downloaded into Excel spreadsheets.

    Country Information

PRM Country Pages provides background information, data and analysis on individual countries. Clients can find highlights of recent memos and presentations on each country, essential industry data, oil and gas news, and links to relevant government and NOC sites.
