Petrochemical Feedstock Service
The Petrochemical Feedstock Service (PFS) leverages the benefits of PFC Energy's proprietary upstream, downstream and petrochemical models to provide an integrated and transparent picture of the future petrochemical demand and the resulting feedstock supply/demand outlook. A subscription to the PFS provides clients with a modular and a flexible service. As a modular service, clients have the opportunity to select optional modules in conjunction with PFS base service; as a flexible service, clients can move beyond PFC Energy's Base Case Market Scenario with the option to add up to five of PFC Energy's Market Scenarios. The modularity and flexibility of the PFS are key value drivers because the PFS can be tailored to encompass a variety of research needs.
The
Base Service
is comprised of a 10-year history, plus PFC Energy's Base Case 10-year outlook of the supply and petrochemical demand of the following feedstocks: Naphtha, LPG, Propane, & Ethane. The PFS base service comes pre-loaded with numerous graphical outputs and data tables, but, unlike other services, the base module enables clients to effectively manage the PFS data by providing the capability to change outputs through data queries.
The
Steam Cracker Products Module
is another insightful addition to the PFS that provides the representative product yields and the associated feed slate (light/full-range naphtha, LPG, propane and ethane) for all of the worldwide steam cracker locations. The module uses a block-flow diagram to display feedstock inputs and resulting product yields on regional, country, or site-specific basis.
The
Reformer Products Module
is similar to the steam cracker products module in that it provides the representative product yields of all worldwide reformers, the primary demand center for heavy naphtha. This module also uses a block-flow diagram to display the quantity of heavy naphtha input and the resulting product yields on a regional-, country-, or site-specific basis.
The
Demand Locations Module
is a helpful mapping module that provides the ability to quickly find feedstock demand locations with respect to steam crackers and reformers. The module also enables clients to click on any site and view that location's capacity history and projection. This is an ideal addition to the PFS for identifying and mapping feedstock demand locations at the regional level.
The
Site Profitability Module
is the last module in our suite of offerings for the PFS. This module expands on the value created with theĀ other modules and offers an estimate of site-specific profitability. The module also gives the projected future profitability based on PFC Energy's pricing forecasts, an essential enhancement for competitive analysis.
The PFS standard outlook uses PFC Energy's Base Case Market Scenario. By selecting from PFC Energy's five alternative scenarios, the PFS clients can see the changes in feedstock supply/demand and prices as the market scenario changes. Great attention to detail has been taken to develop scenario narratives which postulate internally-consistent and coherent future market environments. Furthermore the scenarios employ PFC Energy's full analytical rigor by assessing the energy market's growth prospects under changing assumptions for leading indicators and the associated pricing forecasts. Each added scenario comes with a presentation that fully explains the scenario narrative, the market assumptions and the implications for the petrochemical industry.
